The course was built in the years 1947-1949 after the design of the Svratka artist Alois Chocholáč and the project of ing. J.Charvát. It was opened owing the contribution of the association „Golf-Artists´ Club“, the members of which were, for instance, Jiří Trnka and Adolf Hoffmeister. The course ranks among the oldest golf courses in the Czech Republic. It opens out in the pitoresque landscape of the Nature Protected Area of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Today, the course in ran by the Golf Club Svratka 1932.

 

Tennis courts

The tennis courts next to the Sokolovna building are opened to public daily, from 8am to 8pm. The manager can use two hours a day for irrigation, maintenance and for small repairments. You can book the courts at the manager only, by the phone or personally. The lenght of a game is 60 minutes, from which 5-10 minutes are assumed for preparing the court for a next player.

 

The ski slope

The ski slope is in the local part of Svratka called Česká Cikánka next to the Žďas Hotel, about 1.5 kms far from the centre. Information: https://www.skiareal-svratka.cz

There are also well-maintained pistets for cross-country skiing around the town in winter.

 

 

 

The swimming pool

Koupaliště-©J.HorákThe swimming pool is at the south-west edge of Svratka, in Partyzánská Street. The size of the basin is 50 x 12.5ms, the maximum depth is 4 metres. There is also a small basin for children who cannot swim. The area is grassy. Admission free. Facilities: fast food, playing volleyball or netball.

You can also go swimming to the lakes in Svratouch, Křižánky and Milovy.

There are roofed swimming pools in Žďas Hotel and in Hlinsko (13 kms).
